AARP Suitland Chapter 939 was founded on December 7, 1972.
Chapter meetings are held at the City of District Heights Municipal Center, 2000 Marbury Drive, District Heights, MD  20747. The meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month.

The principal goals of the Chapter are:

  1. To support and promote the "DIVIDED WE FAIL" CAMPAIGN.

  2. Partner with other organizations in the community to provide easy access to resources and credible information which meets the needs of the members.

  3. Increase visibility in the community.

  4. Promote fellowship and social interactions between members.

  5. To enhance the quality of life for older persons.

  6. To promote independence, dignity and purpose for older persons.

  7. To lead in determining the role and place of older persons in society and to improve the image of aging.
